How to Turn on Hidden Files in Cpanel

When you are using CPanel’s file manager, you may not be able to see all of the files that are actually in the folder. The reason is that many of them may be hidden. Particularly dot files, those with a dot in front of them like .htaccess. This video demonstrates how to turn on hidden files in CPanel.

A brief summary of the video:

  1. Login to CPanel
  2. Choose the File Manager Icon
  3. In the right-hand corner of the file manager screen, choose the “settings” button.
  4. Check the box next to “Show Hidden Files (dotfiles)”

That’s it. To turn them off, go to the same settings link as above and uncheck the box.
